Holy Cross Productions presents “Oliver”

30 January 2015

Teacher Mrs Harrison hopes to have some actors and actresses of the future on her hands after being wowed with Holy Cross’s production of Oliver!

The students have been working hard preparing for their production of the Charles Dickens novel which will take place on 10th, 11th and 12th February.

“The show promises to be a great success and has already received fantastic reviews from the tasters that were offered by the lead cast at the schools’ Open Evening and Certificate Evening,” said Musical Director Mrs Harrison.

“Pupils were also invited to perform at the Mayor of Chorley’s Christmas Concert at Astley Hall and he enjoyed it too.”

Mrs Harrison, music theatre coach, Ms Chapman and dramatic director, Mr Boylan have been working with the pupils for hours after school and at weekends and this production looks set to be one of the most successful the school has produced.

“This is undoubtedly one of the most talented pupils casts I have ever worked with,” said Mrs Harrison. “They work hard and are determined to be as good as they can be. It’s been a very emotional journey and I am incredibly proud.”

William plays the role of Oliver while Fagan is Harry. The cheeky Artful Dodger is student Joseph while Aisling is Nancy. Bet is Lucy while Bill Sykes is played by Max.

Tickets are available from the school and are priced £8 for adults and £4 for concessions.
