Holy Cross students have proved budding entrepreneurs after ‘hooking’ in the judges!

Twelve Year 10 Young Enterprise students, who called themselves ‘Embark’,  “invented” the hook mark which they have designed and made in the technology department.

“The idea of the hook mark is a book mark, ruler and has a hole so that you can slot your glasses through,” said Embark manager Courtney.

“The book mark was developed for people who go to read a book and then realise that their glasses are somewhere else so it keeps the glasses with the book.”

The group entered the Young Enterprise Lancashire Finals at UCLAN and had to produce a report, put up a trade stand, they were questioned by the judges on their idea and had to give a four minute presentation.

The judges were ‘hooked’ and Embark won the Innovation Award for their book hook and were runners-up for best company.

They will now go through to the Young Enterprise North West finals in June at the Barclays Technology Centre in Radbroke.
