Women in engineering

Holy Cross is encouraging more of their female students to get involved in engineering.

There is a huge discrepancy between the number of men and women in engineering in the UK and many employers are trying to change the perceptions of engineering and encourage more women to consider it as a career.

Holy Cross will be taking a number of their students to NIS Integrated Engineering in Chorley, at the invite of their SHE manager Richard Taffs.

“We will get a tour of the facilities while employers will speak about their engineering experience. Hopefully it will make some of our students think about their future careers and consider engineering,” said science teacher Ms Brown.
