Millionaires rewarded!

Holy Cross are celebrating 38 of their students becoming millionaires – in words.

There are 20 in Year Seven, 12 in Year Eight and six in Year Nine who have all excelled on the Accelerated Reader Programme.

Year Seven student Connor has broke the record for the amount of words read over a school year – he is now at more than seven million!

Fellow Year Seven Joseph has hit over four million words and received a gold award while Year Eight student Leah and Year Seven student Matthew have both reached over 2.5 million and got a silver award.

Another notable pupil is Ben who only joined Holy Cross just over six weeks ago and has already amassed over one million words.

“The students all got a reward movie afternoon, with The Greatest Showman,” said Library Manager Ms Rushton. “They have all worked really hard to achieve over a million words and totally deserved the treat.”
