Ghostly writing!

22 January 2019

Holy Cross’s English department have been going into primary schools to encourage writing – of a ghostly theme!

English teachers Miss Calver and Miss Hearn visited St Joseph’s Anderton, St Joseph’s Chorley, Sacred Heart, St Bede’s and St Mary’s Chorley and delivered Gothic creative writing lessons with Holy Cross Year Seven and Eight pupils helping to deliver the sessions.

“As a follow-up, we launched a Creative Writing Competition, in which the pupils were asked to describe a gothic setting,” said Miss Calver. “There were some fantastic entries with the overall winner George Cahoon from St Mary’s Chorley.”
