A Great Open Evening for 2019

11 October 2019

Holy Cross prospective pupils and their parents were jumping high at their Open Evening.

The trampolines proved a popular attraction in the Sports Hall as Holy Cross opened their doors for the annual event.

In History, pupils donned gas masks and World War One items to take pupils back in time while, in English Department, there was a Gothic theme, with an appearance from Ralph the Raven!

In Product Design, Year 11 students showed off their mood lights they have made as part of their GCSE examination while the 3D Printer was a hit.

There was a variety of experiments in science for students to try while the library was busy, with a chance to win a new book.

Holy Cross has been oversubscribed for the last few years for Year Sevens and, in 2017, underwent a multi-million pound facelift, funded by Lancashire County Council as well as the Archdiocese. It meant they could add 30 more pupils to their Year Seven intake,

“It was superb to see so many people come to look around our school,” said Head Teacher Mr Gaughan. “We know it’s a fantastic school and we got positive feedback from a lot of the prospective pupils and their parents.”
