Well done to Hannah, Grace and Isla who competed in the annual KS3 Rotary Youth Speaks competition at Walton-Le-Dale High School.
The group talked about the importance of hobbies and how academic studies can sometimes take the focus off them.
All the girls have hobbies whether it’s dance, basketball, swimming or netball.
There were seven teams speaking on the night and Grace was voted best chairperson overall.
The pupils have spent months preparing their speech, assisted in their efforts by Miss Calver and Mrs Phillips.
While they didn’t get through to the next round, they all said it had been a good experience.
