Preston North End Academy starlet Alfie will wear what he hopes is his lucky England shirt for the European final against Italy at Wembley on Sunday.
Alfie, 12, won the shirt in a school competition run by caterers Mellor where he was entered into a draw for pupils who purchased five meals over a period of time.
“I was really surprised to win, I didn’t expect it,” said Alfie. “I wore it at home for the semi-final against Denmark so I will be wearing it again on Sunday.”
Defender Alfie has been at North End since he was seven and has just signed a two-year scholarship as he moves up to Under 13 level.
“I support West Ham as well as my dad is from London and we have season tickets for Preston North End.
“I hope to become a footballer, my favourite subject is PE.”
