Holocaust Memorial Service

28 January 2015

Holy Cross history teacher, Mr Murray, and the school’s Head Boy and Head Girl attended the Chorley Holocaust Memorial Week service at the Cenotaph and Town Hall on Saturday.

The service was conducted by the Rev Dean Dr Francis Marsden and the local MP, the Mayor of Chorley and the leader of Chorley Council were all in attendance.

“The pupils read some moving poems at the Town Hall and a stone from Auschwitz was laid during the ceremony,” said Mr Murray.

“Chorley has also been chosen to light one of only 70 candles in a national act of commemoration.”
