Year 9 learn more about the Holocaust

28 February 2019

Holy Cross was lucky enough to play host to a Holocaust survivor this morning and Year 9 were able to listen to Lady Milena Grenfell-Baines speak about her experiences of fleeing to England on the Winton Transport from Prague.

Lady Baines spoke about her own experiences of persecution under Nazi rule and that of her family’s experiences. In a rare turn of events, Lady Baines was able to reunited with both her mother and father during the war and they remained in England.

Year 9 listened attentively and had an opportunity to ask questions about the Holocaust in general and the experiences Lady Baines had described.
