New Intake 2020 Transition Update

1 June 2020

We are looking forward to welcoming Year 6 to Holy Cross in September.

Normally, we would have the opportunity in July to welcome the year group into school for a taster day to help them get ready for the move to high school.

Sadly, due to current circumstances, this will not be possible.

However, the whole school community did not want them to miss out on this opportunity and we want to help make the transition as easy as possible.

To achieve this, we have launched our New Intake 2020 project.

This project will bring together several resources to help pupils and their families prepare for the move to high school, as well as offering up samples of what to expect in lessons during their first year.

Families starting with us in September will be receiving welcome packs through the post which contain a number of resources along with a workbook that their child should complete.

To accompany this, we are launching video lessons and further resources from our website.

This content can be found on our New Intake page.

These lessons will focus on many subjects covered in our curriculum, including English, Science, and PE, to name but a few.

We do hope that families find these resources helpful.

Should any families have any questions as we move towards September, please do not hesitate to contact us via email or phone, and our admin team will be happy to help.
